Education is an essential part of society. We must support and encourage diverse forms of education for our children. Parents must retain the right to direct their children’s education in the way they see fit without overreaching government involvement. Education must be guided at the most local level.
We must stop passing laws that are not first tested against the Washington State and U.S. Constitutions. This would prevent hundreds of unconstitutional laws from being imposed on the people every year.
We have a broken system for checks and balances. Both the court system and the executive branch have been wrongly placed in a position of creating law. This is rightly reserved for the legislature. When the courts are functioning in their proper role, these laws are identified as unconstitutional and therefore repealed.
When it comes to private property, the moment the government oversteps its boundaries, there is no limit to where the overreach will stop. Many people misunderstand that property is just land or a physical possession, but this is not the case. Your property includes your body, thoughts, religion, and principles among others. When the government interferes with ANY of these it must be stopped.
Living wage jobs are crucial to our society. Industry that provides living wage employment is not just desirable, it is necessary. We must get rid of the over-regulation and excessive oversight placed on these industries to allow them to reach their full potential and provide more living wage jobs to more people.
Life has potential and should be viewed through this lens. Whether dealing with suicide, drug abuse, abortions, depression, murder, or other issues, I support legislation that protects the sanctity of life.
